BOCA RATON, Fla. (Jan. 6, 2010) - The Nova Southeastern University men's basketball team lost their second consecutive Sunshine State Conference road game on Wednesday evening, falling 75-67 at Lynn University. The loss drops the Sharks to 7-5 on the season, including 1-2 in SSC play. Lynn improves to 7-6 and 2-1 in SSC play.

"This is the second straight conference road game and we've had the same problem both games," said NSU head coach Gary Tuell. "Our young guys are not getting mentally prepared at the start of games. We slept-walked in the first half at Tampa and we did the same thing tonight."

The Sharks couldn't find their range in the first half, shooting just 30 percent (9-30) from the floor, including 1-10 on three-pointers. Meanwhile, Lynn shot 45.7 percent, boosted by shooting 6-10 on threes and had eight fast break points.

Tuell said, "We battled back, got the lead and gave ourselves a chance to win the game. I'm proud of that. We showed a lot of heart and it was a great effort but we shouldn't have been down that much to begin with. Once we got the lead we failed to do the little things to put the game away. That is indicative of young players who don't understand the urgency."

NSU was led by freshman guard Brian Cahill (Arlington, Va.) with a 13 point, 7 rebound effort. Junior center Ross Allsop (Sydney, Australia) had 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks while junior forward Alex Gynes (Nowra, Australia) contributed with 13 points and three rebounds. Junior point guard Lemar Dyer had four points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals off the bench in 16 minutes of play.

"Dyer and Cahill played well," Tuell concluded.

Nova Southeastern shot 42.9 percent for the game, including 51.9 percent in the second half. Lynn ended at 42.9 percent from the field. The Fighting Knight held a 46-36 edge in rebounds.

Lynn was led by guard Chris Hall with 20 points.

NSU returns home to host Eckerd College in a SSC game on Saturday, January 9th at 4 pm inside the Don Taft University Center.
